The Reed Family
The other weekend, I had the joy of photographing the Reed family — Evan, Alissa, and their two boys, Jackson and Cooper. Every time I see them, it’s a reminder of how special my job truly is. The Reeds don’t live in Sioux Falls, so the fact that they travel here for their photos means the world to me!
My journey with this family began years ago with their engagement session, followed by their wedding day, and we haven’t stopped there. From milestone moments to growing their family, I’ve been lucky enough to document it all. Watching their love story evolve and their boys grow is such a privilege.
We chose one of my favorite photo locations in Sioux Falls — the willow trees. The soft, romantic draping of the branches and the way the sunlight filters through make it perfect for both timeless portraits and candid moments. Jackson and Cooper ran and played between the trees, laughed with their parents, and gave me some of the sweetest smiles. Those in-between moments — a handhold, a giggle, a quiet snuggle — are the heart of why I love family photography.
This session was the perfect mix of connection, laughter, and genuine love. The Reeds reminded me yet again that photography is more than just pretty pictures; it’s preserving a legacy for years to come.
